Welcome back to Feature Fridays! This Friday, we are featuring a vegan baker who is local to Chicago and provides some delicious sweet treats to the community as a whole and as vegans! We got the scoop on Lauren and her business ventures as a baker and we are very excited to share her story with you!
So Lauren, tell us about Lauren’s Sweet Tooth. How did you get started and what drives you to succeed?
Lauren’s Sweet Tooth is a dessert company, Lauren says. I specialize in custom cakes, cookies, pies and other mouth-watering desserts for the sweets lovers out there.
I started Lauren’s Sweet Tooth 7 years ago with a passion for baking/cooking. I’ve always loved the reaction I would get from people when they tasted my desserts. That’s one of the things that drives me to succeed. The great response I get from my customers about my products is another success driver. That’s one of the things that really keeps me driven and focused on the big picture.
What is your favorite vegan item and why?
My favorite vegan item to make is my “Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies”, it’s actually the first vegan item I experimented with that turned out really well. This cookie was a game changer for me, because it gave me a confidence boost in vegan baking and I haven’t looked back since.
Who inspires you while you bake? What makes them such an inspiration to you?
When I look at other small business owners that have successful businesses, it really motivates me to keep going. It’s nice to see that even though they may be faced with some hardships, they still prevail. This shows me that I have to keep working through every obstacle.
Where can we find your sweet treats?
My vegan cake jars are available at “Peace of Mine” located 408 W. 71st St. in Chicago.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years, I see “Lauren’s Sweet Tooth” having its own location and seeing my products located across Chicago in different stores such as Whole Foods.
