Trying new foods is one of our favorite past times and food festival season in Chicago is in full effect. Your July should be full of food excursions and what better way to start than to meet us at our next pop-up. Check out this list of vegan food festivals to try this summer!
While the entire event is not vegan, The Taste of Chicago does have some vegan friendly food vendors on site this year, including These Wingz?! From July 10-14th, Grant Park will open it’s doors to the yearly food festival and you can find us on Thursday the 11th cooking up buffalo & BBQ wingz, Italian Beef, Mac & Cheez and a new item: BBQ ribs! Admission is free, so stop by and check us out!
The Chicago Vegan Test Kitchen is Sunday, July 14th at 11:00am. This event is more than your average vegan fest. You can enjoy vegan eats, cruelty free goods, beauty and wellness products and so much more. Hosted inside the Emporium in Logan Square, the event welcomes all ages and is open until 4:00pm.
If you’re into learning for yourself, Read It and Eat is hosting an author talk and demo for the vegan cookbook The Vegan Instant Pot by Nisha Vora on July 21st. During this event, you can expect to get your copy of the cookbook signed, be a part of a talk and demo and try samples of Vora’s food! Tickets are available here.
For the vegan bakers out there, Celebrate Vegan is hosting a cookie skillet class on July 20th that is accompanied by a mini market with woman ran vendors. From 3:00-5:00pm, guests can enjoy a cookie skillet class lead by the founder of Mindful Baking. Ingredients, instructions and a great time are included. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
Willing to commute a bit? Join the East Chicago Library for a Vegan Ice Cream Social in East Chicago, IN. This event is happening on July 15th and is from 4:00-6:00pm. The social is free, but limited RSVPs are available. Check out more info here.
